This policy explains what information ChicMags (chicmags.com) collects when you visit the site, how we use it and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Usage data: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser). Google Analytics uses cookies. We also count article views on our own server so we can see which articles are most read.
  • Comments: if you leave a comment, we store your name, email address, comment and IP address. Comments may be checked by Akismet, an automated spam-detection service.
  • Email: if you email us, we keep your message and email address to reply.

How we use information

  • To run, secure and improve the site.
  • To understand which articles are useful.
  • To reply to messages and manage comments and guest contributions.

We do not sell personal information.

Cookies

See our Cookie Policy for the cookies used on this site and how to control them.

Third-party services

We use Google Analytics (Google LLC), Akismet (Automattic) and Hostinger (hosting). Their own privacy policies apply to the data they process. Articles may link to other websites, which have their own privacy practices.

How long we keep data

Google Analytics keeps event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for up to 14 months. Comments, and the details stored with them, are kept for as long as the comment is published. Emails are kept for as long as we need them to reply to you or to manage a guest contribution.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is used. Email hsuren@me.com and we will respond.
